The fishing has been a little tough for numbers of fish after the last cold front. This constantly changing weather has had the fish up and down. But, the big fish are still being caught right now. My latest clients have seen a 12, 11 lb 9 oz, and some 7's for the largest fish of the days. The fish are transitioning up. Several buck bass can be caught in the shallows now. But, they are all small bucks. However, we did catch a 5 pound buck bass last week in a known spawning bed area. This upcoming "super full moon" on the 19th will see several of the early spawners up in the shallows doing their thing! The next couple of weeks should be awesome for the first wave of big fish moving up.

We have seen several good fish up on beds this past week. The little cold fronts we had pushed some of them back out to regroup though. The water temperature on the main lake dropped 4 degrees with those fronts. But, with these warm afternoons, the temperatures should reach 70 degrees in only a few days. I honestly think that the first main lake spawn will take place this week and a full blown spawn will take place in about 10 to 14 days. We're catching several 7 to 10 pound sows that are staged out on points in 4 to 8 feet that have their prime spawning areas next to them.
